Carlisle sits just south of the Scottish border on the M6, close to the Lake District and the western end of Hadrian's Wall. We collect groups from across Cumbria and plan trips in every direction.

Carlisle is England's border city, with Scotland a few miles north and the Lake District just to the south. Groups travel here to walk Hadrian's Wall, tour the northern Lakes, marry at Gretna Green and follow racing at Carlisle Racecourse. It is also on the West Coast main line, so many groups arrive by train and need onward transport into the countryside.
Many destinations around Carlisle are rural, with narrow roads and small car parks, so the choice of vehicle matters as much as the route.

The M6 and A74(M) give fast links north and south, but many Hadrian's Wall sites and Lake District villages are on narrow roads with limited parking. A minibus is often more practical than a full-size coach for these trips.
The A66 and the routes into the Lakes are busy on summer weekends and bank holidays, and fell roads can be closed in winter weather.

Hadrian's Wall walkers often book a minibus to move between start and finish points along the wall. Wedding parties at Gretna Green usually need a vehicle sized for the guests plus space for outfits and gifts.
School trips to the castle and the Roman sites use a coach, as long as the destination has suitable parking.
Spring and summer are the main walking season on Hadrian's Wall and in the Lakes. Weddings at Gretna Green take place all year, and racing at Carlisle runs through spring, summer and autumn. Winter brings shorter days and occasional road closures on the fells.
