Businesses on the trading estate
Companies bring in visitors from Heathrow, run shuttles between offices and hotels, and take teams to away days in the Chilterns or along the Thames. Regular pickups at fixed times are common.
Corporate travelSlough sits on the M4 between London and Reading, with junctions 5, 6 and 7 all within a few minutes of the town centre. Heathrow's western runway is only a few miles east, and Windsor Castle is visible across the Thames from the southern edge of town. Few places in the country put a major airport, a royal castle and a motorway this close together.
That mix shapes almost every booking. A typical week for a Slough group might include an early Heathrow run, a team of visitors collected from a hotel near junction 6 for a meeting on the trading estate, and a family party heading to Legoland at the weekend. The distances are short, but the traffic around the M4 and M25 decides how long each trip takes.
Slough Trading Estate, on the western side of town around Bath Road and Edinburgh Avenue, is one of the largest business parks in the country and brings a steady flow of corporate visitors. The town centre, around the Queensmere Observatory shopping centre and the High Street, is compact and largely pedestrianised. Langley, Cippenham, Burnham, Britwell and Chalvey make up much of the rest of the town.
Slough station is on the Great Western main line, with the Elizabeth line and fast trains to London Paddington and Reading. A short branch line runs from Slough to Windsor & Eton Central. Groups often arrive by train and switch to a minibus here for the last leg to a hotel, a venue or the airport.

The other covered areas closest to Slough, for trips that start or end there.
Plenty of Slough journeys begin or finish somewhere else. A wedding party might gather guests from west London, or a corporate visit might start with a pickup in central London and end at a hotel near Windsor. One vehicle can do both legs.
The M25 links Slough to most of these places within the hour. For trips into London, we plan around the morning and evening peaks on the M4 and the A4, which slow everything between Langley and Hammersmith.
About an hour into the centre along the M4, depending on traffic.

About 45 minutes round the M25 and through Kingston.
About 40 minutes clockwise on the M25.
Roughly 50 minutes via the M40 from Beaconsfield.
About 50 minutes south on the M25 and M23.
Approximate times from Slough town centre in normal traffic. Race days and bank holidays add time.
Most Slough day trips are short hops along the Thames or out towards the Chilterns, which leaves plenty of the day for the visit itself. The longer trips are usually to London, Oxford or the coast.
Windsor is so close that some groups treat it as part of the same town, but the bridge over the Thames at Eton and the one-way streets around the castle slow things on busy days. Allow longer than the map suggests in summer and during royal events.

Slough is one of the best-placed towns in the country for Heathrow, and most Slough airport bookings go there. Gatwick and Luton are both reached on the M25, which makes timings less certain, so we add a margin for groups with fixed check-in times.
London's Ultra Low Emission Zone covers Heathrow and the boroughs east of Slough, and the airports charge for drop-offs at the terminals. Both rules change from time to time, so check before you travel. Our vehicles are chosen with those rules in mind.

The sizes Slough groups ask for most, with the local trips each one suits.
Slough's trips are short, so the choice usually comes down to group size and luggage rather than comfort over distance. Heathrow runs need room for cases, while a Legoland day or a trading estate shuttle needs seats and little else.
A full coach is the right choice for school trips and big race days, but it needs planning in Windsor and Eton, where the streets are narrow and coaches use set stopping points. For groups of up to 24, a minibus gets closer to the castle, the hotels and the riverside.
| Vehicle | Seats | Luggage | Best for | Good to know |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 8 Seater MPV | 8 | Up to about 6 large cases | Heathrow runs for a family, Executive visitors to the trading estate | Fits hotel entrances and office car parks with ease. |
| 16 Seater Minibus | 16 | Cases for most of the group | Team trips to Heathrow, Legoland birthday parties | The most common Slough size. |
| 24 Seater Minibus | 24 | Day bags, or cases with spare seats | Wedding guests near Windsor, Ascot race day groups | Still small enough for Eton and Windsor streets. |
| 33 Seater Coach | 33 | Hold under the floor | Sports clubs, Conference shuttles | A good middle size for corporate events. |
| 49 Seater Coach | 49 | Full luggage hold | School trips from Slough, Large race day parties | Uses coach parks at Legoland and the racecourse. |
The groups that make up most of the work around Slough, and how each trip usually runs.
Slough is a working town with a young, international population and a large share of the Thames Valley's offices. That shows in the bookings: more corporate and airport work than in many towns, alongside family days out and community events.
Companies bring in visitors from Heathrow, run shuttles between offices and hotels, and take teams to away days in the Chilterns or along the Thames. Regular pickups at fixed times are common.
Corporate travelTrips to London museums, Windsor Castle, Legoland and the Thames Valley's outdoor centres need a coach, a named driver and times that fit the school day.
School trip minibus hireWedding parties, religious festivals, family visits and long-haul holidays often need a vehicle big enough for the whole extended family and their luggage, especially for Heathrow.
Family travelYouth football, cricket and rowing clubs travel to fixtures across Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and west London, and to regattas at Dorney Lake.
Sports team travelHeathrow is by far the closest, usually about 15 to 20 minutes from Slough town centre along the M4 or the A4 Bath Road. Terminal 5 is on the western side of the airport, nearest to Slough, while Terminals 2 and 3 are in the centre of the airport, reached by the tunnel under the northern runway, and Terminal 4 is on the southern side.
Because the airport is so close, Slough groups sometimes leave it late. The M4 between junctions 5 and 4 and the M25 around junction 15 can stop at peak times or after an accident, so we still plan a margin for every flight.
For arrivals, we track the flight and meet the group at the terminal's pickup area. Tell us the terminal and the flight number when you book, and whether anyone needs extra help with bags.
An example for 14 overseas visitors flying in for a day of meetings on the trading estate and an evening in Windsor.
Corporate visits around Slough tend to follow the same pattern: an early arrival at Heathrow, meetings near the M4 and dinner somewhere memorable nearby. One driver and one 16 seater can cover the whole day.
The example below shows the kind of plan we would put together. The real times depend on the flight, the meeting schedule and the hotel.
The organiser sends the flight details, the office address, the hotel and the dinner venue. We suggest a 16 seater with room for cabin bags and a few cases.
We confirm the terminal, the meeting point and the office's security arrangements, and send the driver's details.
The driver meets the group at Terminal 5 arrivals and reaches the trading estate in about 20 minutes, depending on traffic.
The vehicle waits or returns for an afternoon visit to a second site, perhaps in Maidenhead or Reading along the M4.
About 15 minutes to a restaurant by the river in Windsor or Eton, then back to the hotel near junction 6.
An early run back to Heathrow, timed with a margin for the M4.
The three places that bring the most visitors through Slough, and what to know about each.
Windsor and Eton sit side by side on either bank of the Thames, just south of Slough, and Legoland lies a few miles further on the edge of Windsor Great Park. They are popular all year, and busiest in the summer holidays.
For visitors staying in Slough's hotels, the short drive means the group can visit the castle in the morning and spend the afternoon by the river without a long day on the road.
The oldest and largest occupied castle in the world dominates Windsor's town centre. The streets around it are narrow and busy, and coaches use designated set-down points and coach parking rather than stopping at the castle gates. We drop the group as close as the rules allow and agree a collection time and place in advance.
Eton College and the High Street are across the footbridge from Windsor. The High Street is narrow, so groups visiting Eton usually walk over the bridge from Windsor rather than being dropped in the street.
The theme park has its own car and coach parks off the Winkfield Road. On summer weekends and school holidays the queue to get in can start well before opening, so we plan to arrive early and agree a collection time near closing.
The Long Walk, the Savill Garden and Virginia Water make good outdoor stops. Parking is at set car parks, so tell us which part of the park the group wants to see.
Some of the busiest dates in the year are just down the road. Check the official dates before you book.
June and early July are the busiest weeks for group transport around Slough, with Ascot, Henley and Wimbledon falling close together. Vehicles and drivers are booked well ahead, so it pays to confirm early.
Five days of racing in June, about 20 to 25 minutes from Slough. Coaches and minibuses use the racecourse's own parking, and the roads around Ascot are very busy before the first race and after the last.
Our Royal Ascot transport page explains how race day groups travel.
Early summer on the Thames at Henley, about 30 minutes west. The town is small and the roads in are slow on regatta days. See Henley Royal Regatta transport.
The tennis in late June and early July is about 45 minutes away by road. Groups usually drop near the grounds and walk the last part. See Wimbledon tennis transport.
The August bank holiday festival in Reading is about 30 minutes west along the M4, with camping kit to carry. See Reading Festival transport.
The Royal Windsor Horse Show in Home Park, summer evening race meetings at Royal Windsor Racecourse and royal occasions all fill Windsor's streets. Check the official dates and expect road closures.
Weddings around Slough often involve two or three locations within a few miles, which suits a shuttle.
Country house hotels around Burnham, Stoke Poges and the Thames riverside between Windsor and Maidenhead host many local weddings. Guests often stay in Slough's hotels or in Windsor, and the ceremony and reception may be in different places.
A 24 seater or a coach running a loop between the hotels, the ceremony and the reception keeps everyone together and means nobody has to drive. We check the venue's driveway and turning space in advance, because some older properties have narrow gates.
Large family celebrations, including Asian weddings with several days of events, are common in Slough. We can plan several vehicles across several days, with pickups at different family homes, and keep the same drivers where possible.
The end of the night matters as much as the start. We agree a final departure time with the couple or the organiser, so guests are not left waiting outside the venue. Our wedding transport page explains guest shuttles in more detail, and the minibus hire with driver page covers how bookings work.
For a longer trip after the wedding, such as a group returning to Heathrow for flights home, one vehicle can collect from several homes and hotels in Langley, Cippenham and Windsor in the same run.
Usually about 15 to 20 minutes, depending on the terminal and the traffic on the M4. Terminal 5 is the closest. See Heathrow transfers.
Yes. It is usually about 50 minutes round the M25 and down the M23, so we add a margin for peak-time traffic. See Gatwick transfers.
Yes. Vehicles cannot wait on the station forecourt, so we agree a nearby meeting point and send it with your booking.
Yes. Legoland Windsor Resort is about 15 to 20 minutes away, with coach parking on site. We plan an early arrival and a collection time near closing.
Coaches use Windsor's designated set-down points and coach parking rather than stopping at the castle gates. We drop as close as the rules allow and agree the collection point.
Yes. Ascot is about 20 to 25 minutes away, and vehicles use the racecourse's parking. Book early for the June meeting.
Yes. Tell us the buildings, the hotels and the times, and we will suggest a vehicle and a schedule. See corporate travel.
Yes. We pick up at the school and plan around the school day. Popular trips include London museums, Windsor Castle and outdoor centres in the Thames Valley.
Send the date, the pickup address, where you are going and how many are travelling, with flight details for a Heathrow run. We will reply with a suitable vehicle and a plan built around Slough's roads. Need something bigger? See our coach hire with driver options.
